The Squirrel and the fox DT

#68 - Use a Die Cut or Punch

Happy Easter Friends!!

Well it's been a while but I am happy to announce that I have found my inspiration again and have recently joined The Squirrel and the Fox Dt team
and today is the first challenge that I have joined in as a DT member
#68-Use a Die cut or Punch
sponsored by the very fabulous Kenny K

Don't you just love Kenny K images I love love love them! and was so excited that my first card for this Dt team was to use one of there super fun images
Our very generous sponsors Kenny K are giving 5 wonderful digi's for the  prize for this challenge.

This is what I have come up with using one of the sponsors images

Isn't this just an excellent image to make a male card I couldn't resist this image.
As you can see I have made an Easel card using Kraft card stock as the base of the card and distress inking the edges with my favourite Tim Holtz vintage photo distress ink.
I also used Kasiercraft paper Timeless classics. Its such a good classic paper for bloke cards
To tough it up a bit so that the card base fit the image I have also used a Tim Holtz washi tape
and a really cool checker plate embossing folder from my stash. Which I embossed kitchen tin foil on jac paper and then grudged the foil with stazon saddle brown ink.
(very cool effect if I don't say so myself)
a piece of cardstock which was then crumbled  and distressed and inked and attached behind the image
using The Tim Holtz tiny stapler
I have coloured the Kenny K image with my copics on x-press it blending card  and it was fussy cut

and attached to a wobbler which was a really cute idea to create a bit of movement
Part of this challenge is to use a die cut or punch so of course I had to use the Tim Holtz
Alterations Steampunk die which really fit the card design I cut these out on foil and grudged them up using the stazon ink
I really enjoyed taking part of this challenge and now its your turn get on over to The squirrel and the fox blog and join this challenge  to win 5 great digi's from Kenny K

The Stamping Chef November Challenge

TSC Monthly Recipe Challenge

Hello Peeps,
Just wanted to show you today a little card I made for The Stamping Chef monthly challenge
Tamara and the Stamping chef are celebrating there 1st birthday so
                                               HAPPY BIRTHDAY TSC!!

So starting this month Tamara has made The face book recipe group to a monthly challenge . To be apart of this challenge all you need to do is become a member of the face book page here and you can purchase the image from The Stamping chef here

By being a member, and following the guidelines of the challenge found on the face book page. You will be able to request the image for free like I did. This is what I created from the free image.

It's such a fun and detailed image which just makes me giggle.
I coloured the image with my copics and then fussy cut around the image, because the image was so detailed I didn't want to take anything away from it, so the idea was to keep the background simple.
Of course simple is not my middle name and the idea of a starburst, which is all the rage at the moment came to mind.
I am sure simple could still have been obtained, but of course while searching through my paper stash I came across the glitter paper and in true bower bird form I had to use the sparkle.
So even though it's not as simple as I first intended I am still very happy with the finished product.
The image was then popped on foam dots and added to the centre of the starburst and Hey presto finished card!
This was a great image to play around with and I am so happy I took the time to play along. I am sure this digi will be dragged out a few more times yet
